Sugar Rush 1000

Pragmatic Play kept the candy board everybody already knew and rebuilt the maths underneath it. The 7×7 cluster grid and the tumbling wins are unchanged — but every multiplier spot now doubles all the way to x1,024, which is how a 5,000x slot became a 25,000x one.

The game

What Sugar Rush 1000 actually changed

A sequel that leaves the surface alone. Same candy grid, same tumbles, same gummy bears — and a completely different ceiling underneath.

Open Sugar Rush 1000 next to the 2022 original and you would struggle to tell them apart. The board is still seven columns by seven rows. Wins are still clusters — five or more of the same sweet touching left-to-right or top-to-bottom, no paylines anywhere. Every win still tumbles: the winning symbols pop, whatever sat above them drops down, and the sequence keeps going until nothing new connects.

The change sits in one number. In the original, a multiplier spot could double four times and stop at x128. Here it doubles ten times and stops at x1,024. That single adjustment is the whole sequel: the top prize moves from 5,000x to 25,000x your stake, five times what the first game could ever pay.

The trade is honest and worth understanding before you spin. A bigger ceiling on the same RTP means the money has to come from somewhere, and it comes from frequency. Sessions run colder for longer. The bonus is rarer. When Sugar Rush 1000 finally does connect a long tumble over a field of doubled spots, it pays on a scale the original simply could not reach.

The core mechanic

Multiplier spots: from x2 to x1,024

This is the whole game. Understand the doubling ladder and everything else — the volatility, the dry spells, the size of the top prize — follows from it.

Ten doublings. A single square starts at x2 and finishes at x1,024 — and there are forty-nine squares on the board.

  1. A cluster wins

Five or more matching sweets connect. They pay, then vanish — and every square they occupied is marked with a x2 multiplier spot.

  2. The board tumbles

New symbols drop into the gaps. If a fresh cluster covers a marked square, that square doubles: x2 becomes x4, x4 becomes x8, and so on.

  3. Spots add together

Every marked square sitting under a winning cluster is summed first, then applied to that win. Four x16 spots under one cluster means a x64 payout.

  4. Free spins never reset

In the base game the marks clear when the spin ends. During free spins they persist across every spin of the round — that is where 25,000x lives.

Sugar Rush 1000 grid covered in multiplier spots during free spins

A board deep into a free spins round — nearly every square carries a multiplier.

Why this matters for your bankroll: a multiplier spot is worth nothing until a second win lands on the same square. Short sessions rarely get there. The doubling ladder needs volume, and volume is the one thing you control.

The bonus round

Free spins and the Gumball Rocket scatter

One symbol decides whether a session is a grind or a story. Here is exactly how many spins each scatter count pays, and why the round behaves so differently from the base game.

Gumball Rocket scatter symbol

The Gumball Rocket

A gold rocket packed with gumballs, stamped SCATTER. It lands on any of the seven reels, it does not need to touch anything, and it is the only symbol in the game that ignores the cluster rule entirely. Three of them anywhere on the screen opens the bonus.

What changes once the round starts

In the base game, multiplier spots are wiped clean at the end of every spin. Whatever you built during a tumble sequence is gone the moment the sequence stops. The free spins round removes that reset — marks stay on the board for the entire feature.

Ten free spins is therefore not ten separate chances. It is one long, continuous build. Spin three drops a cluster onto a square that spin one already marked, and the x2 becomes x4. Spin seven lands on it again and it becomes x8. By the back half of a good round the grid is a minefield of stacked multipliers, and a single wide cluster can collect a dozen of them at once.

Land three or more rockets again during the round and you are topped up with a fresh batch of spins — with every multiplier you have already built still sitting exactly where you left it. Retriggers are where the genuinely large numbers come from.

Buy feature

Two ways to skip the wait

The bonus arrives roughly once in 323 spins. If you would rather not sit through that, Pragmatic Play sells the round outright — at two very different prices.

Free Spins

100xyour current stake

At £0.20 a spin that is £20. At £1 a spin it is £100.

  • Drops you straight into the free spins round.
  • The board starts clean — every multiplier has to be built from scratch.
  • Spin count is drawn the same way as a natural trigger: usually 10, occasionally more.

Super Free Spins

500xyour current stake

At £0.20 a spin that is £100. At £1 a spin it is £500.

  • The entire 7×7 grid is pre-loaded with x2 multiplier spots before the first spin.
  • Every square is already one win away from x4 — the doubling starts immediately.
  • This is the version the 25,000x figure is realistically built around.

A bought bonus costs a fixed amount and returns an entirely random one. Buying five rounds in a row at 100x means a guaranteed £100 out at £0.20 stakes, with no guarantee of anything coming back. Treat the buy price as the cost of a single spin, because that is mathematically what it is. Bonus buys are not available at every UK casino.

How to read it: the column heading is how many matching symbols are joined together. A cluster of ten Pink Candies at a £1 stake pays £5; the same ten at fifteen symbols or more pays £150. Anything above fifteen is treated identically — the ladder stops there.

The bit that changes everything: these are pre-multiplier figures. Land that ten-symbol Pink Candy cluster across four squares each carrying x64 and the multipliers sum to x256 before the payout is calculated. That is the difference between a £5 win and a four-figure one.

There is no wild symbol in Sugar Rush 1000. Nothing substitutes, nothing expands. Clusters are formed by identical sweets touching horizontally or vertically — diagonals never count.

Getting started

Playing Sugar Rush 1000 in six steps

From a cold start to your first tumble. Nothing here takes longer than a coffee, and step three will save you more money than any strategy on this page.

  1. Pick a licensed casino

Use one of the three above or check any other operator against the UKGC public register. A licence number belongs in the footer — if it is missing, close the tab.
  2. Register and verify

Real name, real date of birth, real address. UK rules require identity checks before your first withdrawal, and mismatched details are the single most common reason a payout stalls.
  3. Set a deposit limit first

Do this before the money goes in, not after. Every UK casino has the control in account settings, it takes under a minute, and raising it later comes with a cooling-off delay by design.
  4. Deposit and read the bonus terms

Check the wagering multiplier, the maximum bet allowed while a bonus is active, and whether Sugar Rush 1000 counts fully towards it. Slots usually do, but never assume.
  5. Find the game and set your stake

Search the lobby for "Sugar Rush 1000" — not "Sugar Rush", they are different games with different ceilings. Stakes run from £0.20 to £240, though most UK lobbies cap it far lower.
  6. Spin, and let the tumbles finish

A spin is not over when the reels stop. Tumbles keep resolving and multiplier spots keep building. Turbo speeds up the animation only — it changes nothing about the outcome.
Sugar Rush 1000 bet size controls

The stake selector sits under the reels — set it before the first spin, not after a losing run.

The maths

How volatile is Sugar Rush 1000 really?

Pragmatic Play rates it five out of five, which is the top of their own scale. These are the numbers behind that rating and what they mean for a real session.

  • 34.48%

    Base game hit rate

Roughly one winning spin in three — but most are small.

  • 26.40%

    Overall hit frequency

Counting the full session, wins land about once in four spins.

  • 1 in 323 spins

    Free spins trigger

Three rockets are rare. Plan your budget around this number.

  • 1 in 12,800,000

    Odds of the 25,000x cap

Real, documented, and effectively a lottery ticket.

Reading the numbers honestly

A 26% hit frequency sounds respectable until you notice what most of those hits are worth. The bottom three symbols pay 0.2x to 0.3x for a minimum cluster. At a £1 stake that is twenty to thirty pence returned on a pound spent. Technically a win. In practice, a slow leak.

The real money is gated behind the free spins round, and that round arrives roughly once every 323 spins. Budget for three hundred spins and you are buying yourself approximately one look at the feature. Budget for fifty and you are, statistically speaking, buying nothing at all.

The 25,000x cap is genuine and it has been hit. It is also a roughly one-in-twelve-million outcome. No stake size, no time of day and no spin pattern moves that number — it is fixed in the game maths and unaffected by anything you do at the controls.

What that means at the controls

  • Stake for 300 spins, not for one. Divide the money you are willing to lose by 300. That is your stake. A £30 budget means £0.10 spins, not £1 ones.
  • Expect long empty stretches. A hundred spins with no feature is entirely normal here and says nothing about whether the game is "due".
  • Do not raise the stake after a dry run. The board has no memory. Raising the stake only shortens the number of spins your budget can still buy.
  • Check which RTP build you are on. Operators can licence reduced versions. 96.53% is the standard figure — anything lower is the same game paying less.

The verdict

Pros and cons

An honest split. If the right-hand column does not put you off, this is a very good game for what it is.

What works

  • A 25,000x ceiling — five times the original Sugar Rush and among the highest Pragmatic Play has ever shipped.
  • 96.53% RTP sits above the UK slot average, on the standard build.
  • Multiplier spots carry across the whole free spins round instead of resetting each spin.
  • Cluster pays with no paylines to learn — the rules fit in one sentence.
  • Stakes start at £0.20, so the game is genuinely playable on a small budget.
  • Two buy options at very different price points rather than a single take-it-or-leave-it price.

What to know first

  • Five-out-of-five volatility. Long stretches with nothing are the normal experience, not bad luck.
  • Free spins trigger roughly once in 323 spins — short sessions will often never see the feature.
  • No wild symbol, so there is nothing to rescue a near-miss cluster.
  • Low-tier symbols pay 0.2x–0.3x for a minimum cluster, which feels like a loss even when it is a win.
  • Some operators run reduced RTP builds of the same game without making it obvious.
  • Visually near-identical to the original — easy to open the wrong game in a busy lobby.

Bankroll

Seven mistakes that end sessions early

No system beats a slot — the RTP is fixed and the outcomes are pre-determined. What you can control is how long your money survives, and that is entirely down to avoiding these.

  1. Staking for the jackpot instead of the session

The 25,000x figure tempts people into £2 spins on a £40 budget. That buys twenty spins against a feature that averages one in 323. Divide the budget by 300 and stake that.

  2. Raising the stake to "catch up"

Every spin is independent of the last. A cold run does not make the next spin warmer — it only means you now have less money to reach the feature with.

  3. Walking away mid-feature

Multiplier spots build across the whole round. Quitting a free spins round at spin four throws away the exact structure the last spins are supposed to cash in.

  4. Buying bonuses on a short budget

A 100x buy is 100 spins of the same stake, spent at once, on one random outcome. Three failed buys and the session is over before the base game got a chance.

  5. Opening the wrong Sugar Rush

The original and the 1000 sit next to each other in most lobbies and look almost identical. One caps at 5,000x, the other at 25,000x. Check the title before you spin.

  6. Ignoring which RTP build is loaded

Operators can licence lower-RTP versions. Same art, same features, worse maths. The game info panel shows the figure — look at it once, on your first spin at a new casino.

  7. Treating turbo as a strategy

Turbo shortens the animation, nothing else. All it really changes is how fast your budget is consumed — which on a game this volatile is the opposite of helpful.

Demo mode

Free play vs real money

The demo is not a watered-down version. It runs the same RTP, the same multiplier ladder and the same bonus — the only thing missing is money on either side of the transaction.

Play Sugar Rush 1000 in demo mode and you get the exact same certified game file a depositing player gets. The maths is not adjusted, the bonus is not made easier, and the multiplier spots build at the same rate. Anyone claiming demo mode is "set to pay more" to hook you is describing something that is not legal for a UKGC-licensed operator to do.

Its real value is calibration. Two hundred demo spins will show you, at no cost, how often the feature actually lands and how long the quiet stretches run. That is the single most useful thing you can learn about a five-out-of-five volatility slot before any real money is involved.

The one thing demo mode cannot teach you is how a losing run feels when the money is yours. Keep that in mind when the numbers look comfortable on play credits.

Took me about four hundred spins at 20p before the rockets finally showed up, and I nearly gave up twice. Then the round built three squares up to x256 and the whole thing paid 740x. I have played the original for years and it has never done anything close to that.

What I like is that you can actually see the maths happening. The little multipliers stack up in front of you and you know exactly what a big cluster would be worth. Most slots hide all of that behind an animation. This one just shows you.

Brilliant game, but do not come at it with forty quid and big ideas. I ran two hundred demo spins first to see what the dry runs feel like and it completely changed how I set my stake. Best advice on this whole page, honestly.

Plays beautifully on a phone in portrait — the grid stays big and the spin button is right where your thumb is. I have never bothered with a casino app because the browser version runs perfectly well on a Pixel.

Reader comments describe individual sessions and are not a guide to what any future session will do. Sugar Rush 1000 has a fixed RTP and fully random outcomes.

How this page was put together

Every number on this page came from one of two places: the paytable and rules panel inside Sugar Rush 1000 itself, or Pragmatic Play's published data sheet. Where two sources disagreed, the in-game panel won. Nothing here is copied from another review, and nothing is estimated to fill a gap.

The casino rankings are ours and they are not for sale. Placement is decided by licence status, how quickly withdrawals actually clear, and how readable the bonus terms are. We earn a commission when a reader opens an account through a link on this page, and that arrangement has never moved a casino up or down the list.

FAQ

Sugar Rush 1000 questions, answered

The things readers email us about most often.

  • The standard build returns 96.53%, slightly above the UK slot average. Pragmatic Play also licences alternative builds, and some operators run lower ones. The figure your casino is actually using is shown in the game's own information panel — check it once when you open the game at a new site.

  • 25,000x your total stake, capped. At a £1 spin that is £25,000; at the £240 maximum it is the cap, not a multiple of it. The published odds of reaching it are roughly one in 12,800,000 spins.

  • Every square covered by a winning cluster is marked with a x2 multiplier. Win on that same square again and the mark doubles — x4, x8, x16, all the way to x1,024.

When a cluster lands, every marked square underneath it is added together first, then the total is applied to that win. In the base game the marks clear at the end of the spin. During free spins they stay for the whole round.

  • Three Gumball Rocket scatters award 10 free spins, four award 12, five award 15, six award 20 and seven award 30. Landing three or more again during the round tops you up with extra spins, and everything you have already built on the board stays exactly where it is.

  • No. Sugar Rush 1000 has seven paying sweets and one scatter, and nothing substitutes for anything else. Wins come only from five or more identical symbols joined horizontally or vertically — diagonal connections never count.

  • Standard Free Spins cost 100x your stake. Super Free Spins cost 500x and start with the entire 7×7 grid already carrying x2 multipliers. Not every UK casino offers the buy feature — where it is missing, that is an operator decision, not a fault with the game.

  • No, and they sit next to each other in most lobbies. The 2022 original caps at 5,000x with multipliers stopping at x128. Sugar Rush 1000 caps at 25,000x with multipliers reaching x1,024. Same art, same rules, very different variance — check the title before you spin.

  • Yes. The demo runs the same certified game file with the same RTP and the same bonus, using play credits. No registration or deposit is needed. It is the cheapest way to find out how long the quiet stretches really run before you stake anything.

  • It does. The game is HTML5 and runs in Safari, Chrome and the other mobile browsers without anything to install. There is no official Sugar Rush 1000 app — see our mobile and app guide for how to put a one-tap shortcut on your home screen instead.

  • No. We are an information service — we publish reviews, paytables and casino comparisons, and we never hold balances, take deposits or run player accounts. Playing for real money means registering at a licensed casino, which we explain step by step on the login and account guide.
